Others generate fewer greenhouse gas emissions

Every company must eliminate its own greenhouse gas emissions, and any caused by its products as a consequence of their use, to live up to the Break-Even Goals. Here we consider actions which go beyond this.

About this Positive Pursuit

Human-caused greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions must be drastically reduced and eventually halted to avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change.

The GHG emissions of others are reduced when:

  • An activity is modified to deliver the same results with lower GHG emissions;
  • An activity is substituted by another which leads to no GHG emissions; or
  • GHGs are intercepted before emission, and either used or stored in a way that prevents later emission.

This Positive Pursuit encompasses any action which achieves such an outcome
