Dr Craig Fergusson

Craig is an experienced HR professional, implementing end-to-end HR solutions aligned with commercial and business requirements as well as employee engagement and talent management strategies.

Craig started his career as a Semiconductor scientist and moved from there into Financial Analytics for the Semiconductor Sector, broadening out across the tech sector in general.  He moved into HR via head-hunting quants for high-frequency trading desks and then taking an in-house role.  He worked as the HR manager for the Carbon Trust during their shift from public sector quango to private sector consultancy then lead the HR function at Principles for Responsible Investment as they underwent a transformation in leadership and culture.  He then lead the Global HR team at Milvik BIMA, a 7000 person microinsurance provider dealing exclusively in emerging markets across LatAm, Africa and Asia.  He is currently Head of People at Steer Group, a global transport and infrastructure consultancy, where he is responsible for the HR and L&D functions and is a member of the Executive.

During the past 10 years Craig’s career interests have been strongly aligned with social and financial inclusivity and environmental responsibility.  As well as securing $250,000 grant-funding from FMO, the Dutch Development Bank, to fund gender inclusivity work in emerging markets while at Milvik, over the past decade he has been an informal advisor to various organisations around mental health inclusivity and support in the workplace.
