Leveraging the Future-Fit Business Benchmark
ESG Matter have been working with HKUST for some time now. The University has traditionally published Sustainability Reports and aimed to enhance their reporting using international standards. After considering various options like HKEx, GRI, and TCFD, they opted for the Future-Fit Business Benchmark (FFBB) based on the Head of Sustainability’s strong alignment with systems thinking.
The process involved educating the team on systems thinking, introducing FFBB elements, Break-Even Goals, and Positive Pursuits. Leveraging the team’s familiarity with sustainability and data tracking, adoption of FFBB was relatively smooth. While not fully implemented, they used FFBB as a framework in their report, aligning existing data with the Benchmark and identifying relevant data for 23 Break-Even Goals, with a commitment to ongoing utilization for performance improvement.
We are currently working towards reporting in accordance with FFBB, so we have conducted a cross-referencing exercise to identify where our current reporting aligns with 23 breakeven goals under FFBB.
