Dr Glenn Frommer

Glenn is one of the pioneers of sustainability and the environmental movement, having worked in the field for more than 35 years in USA, China, Europe, and Australia.

Prior to founding ESG Matters in 2013, Glenn held senior management positions with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation Ltd. in Hong Kong for more than 22 years where he embedded sustainability through an integrated Enterprise Risk Management and stakeholder engagement approach, publishing China’s and the transport sector’s first sustainability report and climate change policy.

Glenn has been involved in drafting and advising on most of the international sustainability and environmental standards and frameworks used today. He remains active in guiding MNEs use of sustainability tools, particularly applying his experiences from First Nations and Indigenous engagements.

Glenn holds a PhD in Aerospace Sciences from Stanford University, is a Fellow and member of several international and local professional bodies, a Fulbright Fellow, and a published author. Glenn is also the Honorary Chair of the UITP Sustainable Development Commission, having started the Working Group in 2001. He sits on the Standards Board for AccountAbility 1000, is an advisor to UBQ Materials, advises MNEs and PE Funds on reporting and governance and M&A, teaches, and participates in a number of international start-up ventures.
