Our biggest specific challenges are around climate action along the entire value chain and further development towards a fully circular economy. Delta Light produces and sells quality architectural lighting fixtures. The production of the high-quality components, by ourselves and by suppliers, often requires a lot of energy and emits greenhouse gases. Detailed mapping of greenhouse gas emissions across our entire value chain is therefore a priority. From there, we will formulate strategic targets. Making the upstream value chain more sustainable will be central to this.
The conscious choice of timeless design and high-quality products with a long expected lifespan and high lighting efficiency is the basis of our current approach around circularity. We will maintain and further broaden this approach. In the future, disassembly, replaceability of parts, reparability and recyclability of components will become increasingly important. This also brings extensive logistical challenges. We also want to strengthen our connection with the end-user and the luminaires in order to offer more sustainable solutions at the end-of-life stage.
With a complex supply chain stretching across several continents, we also see growth opportunities in terms of social foundation. After all, we want to respect the development opportunities of every human being who contributed to the creation of our high-quality products.
In addition, we will seek to create positive impact wherever we can, to speed up society’s transition to future-fitness through our own actions and by assisting others on the journey. In particular, design and technology are the driving forces behind Delta Light. We want every product to create added value for all our stakeholders and for light to contribute to quality of life.
We acknowledge that incremental improvement of the status quo isn’t enough, so we intend to transform the way we do things. We will lead by example and encourage other businesses to do the same.
